It has been awhile since I have last posted anything. Things around here have been busy since January.
At the end of Jan. the kids and I went to stay with my mom in Oroville, Ca. to be closer to family for a bit. Kayleigh started school at Helen Wilcox, and Derrick at Las Plumas. I didn't think I would be as busy as I have been. In the meantime, I have been able to fly out a couple of times and see Matt on his weekends off in Az. We were able to spend the weekend of Valentine's day together. Matt took me to Hyatt Resort in Scottsdale, Az and steakhouse for dinner. It was nice. The kids have not been able to go because of school, but he was able to get a 17 day leave on Feb.27,2010. Kayleigh sure has been missing her daddy. Matt has been trying to adjust to not being with the kids and dealing with all that is getting thrown at him at this time. He is holding up ok right now. We both have had some bad days but are keeping our heads up.
We picked Matt up on Feb.27 at the Sacramento Airport. I am so glad to have him for the next 2 weeks as I am sure he is glad to be done with his schooling. We decided to take our kids on a short cruise while he was home. Derrick being a teenager decided he was not into it so it's just Matt, Kayleigh and I this trip. We will be going on the Carnival Paradise cruise March 8th to March 12th. Then we will probably spend the weekend in San Diego visiting our friends.

Christmas

Before Matt left we were able to get his mom, dad and brother out to our house to spend christmas with the family. Kayleigh got a BIG SURPRISE from santa on christmas eve. We finished our last week week of christmas vacation with Matt and friends in Reno taking the kids skiing and hanging out at circus circus. Kayleigh even learned how to skate at the roller rink.
Matt left on Jan.2,2010 and will spend the next two mo. going to school before he leaves in April for Iraq. We are still able to keep in contact with him over the phone for now. We are missing him lots already and hope the year will go by quickly. I will try to keep everyone posted as much as possible.
